What is My Record My Story ?
My Record My Story is a memorable professionally produced audio recording, a one-of-a-kind keepsake where you tell your very own life story that will be heard and enjoyed by generations to come. Picture a future where families feel linked to their elders through genuine storytelling—perhaps never meeting them, but hearing their life stories in their voices. So, whether it’s your full life story or a particular moment in time you want to capture like travels, parenthood, or a life achievement, if you have a story to tell then this is for you!
Who’s behind My Record My Story?
My Record My Story is run by the radio presenter and audio producer Tim Allen, who worked at Wave 105 on the South Coast for 17 years as head of production and can now be heard on Nation Radio across the South of England.
How does the process work?
To place your order, drop us a line (click here) and talk to us about what you'd like to do.
Once the order is placed, we’ll do a discovery call to get to know a little more about you and plan your recording. There’s a short questionnaire and we’ll have a chat to discuss which topics and questions you’d like to include in your story.
We’ll confirm a date, time and place for your recording.
Your audio will be recorded in professional studio-quality in your own home or at our studio centre, and our professional interviewer will capture the moments that define the story you want to tell.
Your story will be mixed with occasional, carefully chosen, fitting music to create a beautiful, polished recording.
You’ll be the star of your very own show that will last forever. There are also no technical requirements on your part on day. All you need to do is talk.
You’ll receive your story within 2 weeks from the date of recording (subject to availability).
How will I know what to say and what if I make a mistake? This is all new to me.
We’ll make it an easy process where you’ll have full support and guidance to make sure it’s a fun and rewarding process. We’ll make full use of the notes from the discovery call to make sure your story is complete, and if you need to stop and restart at any time during the recording, that’s fine and after the interview we’ll edit it so the end result is a polished professional recording to share with your friend and family.
How can I access my finished story?
Your life story will have its very own dedicated private webpage where your story can be enjoyed. You can also choose to add photos to the webpage.
This can then be shared with friends and family as you wish.
Alternatively, you can just receive your audio as an audio file to keep and share.
Can I change anything after the recording?
Yes, we want you to be completely happy with your recording so revisions are possible at no extra charge.
How long does the interview take?
The initial discover call will take around 30 to 45 minutes.
On the day of recording, you’ll have 2 hours of recording time when we’ll record your story and the finished recording once edited will be up to 60 minutes.
Is it possible to re arrange the date of the interview?
Yes, in exceptional circumstances but we will need 48 hour’s notice.
Which areas do you cover?
At the moment we cover Hampshire, Dorset, and West Sussex but if you live outside this area please contact us to check availability and prices.
How do I pay for my recording?
We ask for a £50 deposit (non refundable) at time of booking, and the outstanding balance paid at point of delivery. Once the payment is made you'll receive your audio via email and a password to access your story on our website. We accept most major bank cards, Paypal, bank transfer and even good old fasioned cash.
Can I buy this as a gift for someone?
Of Course, My Record My Story is the perfect give that can be handed down generations
Is your studio centre local to me?
Yes, we can accommodate a suitable location to record your story in a comfortable, relaxed and fully accessible environment, at a minimal additional cost.
How much does it cost?
The total price for your life story is an introductory price of £275 inc VAT per recording lasting up to 60 minutes but the value of your life story is of course priceless.

Can I have someone else with me?
Yes of course. However we try and keep you as the star of your recording unless otherwise agreed.
